Plug & Play Electric Drivetrains
“EV sedans are coming to market … but there have not been any options for light-duty pick-up trucks until ElectraDrive”
Fleet managers, small businesses and consumers today have very few options when it comes to plug-in versions of utility vehicles.
Pickups, vans, SUVs and large sedans cover the most miles, use the most fuel and emit most of a fleet's pollution.
Fleets need rechargeable versions of these vehicles in order to meet clean-fleet goals, reduce emissions and reduce demand for foreign oil.
The grid electricity used to recharge these vehicles is pervasive, inexpensive and domestically produced.
Yet the automakers are still years away from offering a broad range of plug-in vehicles. Even once they do, the customer will be faced with an array of different, monolithic standards.
As a fleet manager, you need the transition to plug-in technology to be as seamless as possible. A common technology platform can help. Ancillary vehicle services, such as installation, training, maintenance and technical support also will be essential.
Small businesses and consumers will benefit from these same resources as they make the decision to go electric.
FORMER INTEL CHAIRMAN ANDY GROVE believe
s the only way to rapidly address the climate crisis and the US dependence on foreign oil is to convert some of the 100 million "large form-factor" vehicles that include pick-ups, SUVs and vans, to plug-in hybrids.
Oil imports could be cut by 50%.
Grove sees, as we do, an important role for the vehicle service industry, by adding the capability to offer plug-in conversions.

ElectraDrive's integrated solution provides fleets and individual vehicle customers the products and services they need:
Plug-in electric drivetrains
We integrate next-generation electric motors, batteries and power electronics from our suppliers to create a family of plug-in drivetrains for different vehicles and applications (see Products).
Plug & play integration technology
Our core integration technology allows a menu of powertrain components to be integrated into a variety of widely used fleet vehicles to serve diverse applications. This capability allows vehicles originating from different manufacturers to be supported on a common plug-in technology platform.
Distributed conversion
We are putting in place a national network of ElectraDrive-accredited installation and service centers to provide worry-free EV conversion and support, regionally and locally (see Installers).
Installer training & accreditation
All ElectraDrive-affiliated installers will be trained and accredited to deliver vehicle conversions according to standard procedures and certification requirements.
ElectraDrive's training program is also an essential resource for any fleet migrating to electric drive. The general EV proficiency gained by vehicle operators and maintenance staff will be transferable across most EV platforms, not limited to ElectraDrive. See Training for more details.
